Rules

 

Participation in each tournament is open to solo anglers only. No teams.

Register at ramp on the morning of tournament.. No preregistration meetings.

No Dead Fish will be weighed.

Disqualified if late.

SAFETY: safe boating conduct must be observed all times by all tournament competitors. All contestants must wear a Coast Guard approved life vest when boat is on plane. All State, Coast Guard, Federal Parks and Wildlife regulations shall apply at all times.

TACKLE & EQUIPMENT: Only artificial lures may be used. No live or prepared bait will be permitted with the exception of pork strips, rinds, etc. No trolling with outboard motor is allowed. All fish must be caught in a legal sporting manner. Intentional snagging of fish will not be allowed.

Citations: A contestant cited by officers for violation of State or Federal fishing or boating regulations during the tournament will be disqualified from the event.
Sportsmanship: All contestants are expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy, safety, and conservation. Any angler who displays poor sportsmanship, violates these rules or any state or local laws or brings unfavorable publicity to the sport of bass fishing will be disqualified.
Encroachment: A “50 yard rule” is in effect at all times during competition. No contestant’s boat may move within 50 yards of another contestant’s boat at any time for the purpose of fishing without the consent of contestant involved. A boat moving from one area to another may infringe upon this zone as long and the party that is moving does not fish and does not intentionally disrupt the area.
Alcoholic Beverages and Drugs: At no time during tournament hours are alcoholic beverages or drugs allowed.
Scoring and Limits: Only largemouth, spotted and smallmouth bass can be scored. Individual lake length- limits will be followed. No dead fish will be weighed. Each angler will be allowed to weigh in a five bass limit, except in Summer events, which will be three fish limits.

INSURANCE & LIABILITY

It  is the sole responsibility of the boat owner to carry and have proof of  adequate public liability insurance covering them and passengers. All  contestants are required to sign a waiver absolving the tournament sponsors,  co-sponsors and their employees from any responsibility for any damage or  personal injury sustained as a result of their participation in the tournament  or related activities. Contestants are required to have in their possession and  provide proof of insurance on demand by the tournament director. All  participants agree to hold harmless Top Rod Solo Trail officers, directors and agents.

Protest: All protests must be submitted before the tournament officials close the scales. All decisions made by tournament officials are final.

The tournament director reserves the rights to change or modify any rules/programs.  If any changes, the new changes would be announced at the meeting before the tournament.
